Nicholas Litte: Candidate for President of CPHA
Greetings to all:
My name is Nicholas Little and I am casting in my lot for the Vice-Presidency of the Central Piedmont Community College Historical Association. I love history and I am all about doing those things to help expand whatever we can do to make students and the community more aware of the history and resources we have. I serve within many other student organizations here at Central Piedmont Community College. However history has palyed a major role in my life, and I want to help others undrstand that it can be both educational and fun. History is the inspiration that lays the foundation of our future. As a veteran of the United States Naval Service, it is evermore clear to me the importance of an organization such as this. I intend to work with advisors, fellow officers, and members to build the reputation of this organization and energize the membership to be more successful. Once this organization is stucturized, I then feel we will be ready to take on some challenges that will not only enable to preserve history, but become a part of it!Thank you for your time and consideration and again I am seeking election tot eh office of Vice-President!

Akash Gall: Candidate for President of CPHA
My name is Akash Gall, and I would like to run for President of the Central Piedmont Historical Association. As President I would like to focus the club in a few key areas:
1. We should work to develop volunteer opportunities for members. In doing so the club would be able to better serve the community. Furthermore, by volunteering as a member of the club, we would gain promotion and simultaneously build our reputation within the community.
2. Work with the school administration to further research the history of CPCC. It has been suggested in previous meetings that we could volunteer to do tours for CPCC. The history of the college would play an important role in this and it would, again, give us free promotion.
3. Develop connections with other clubs and perhaps collaborate in large projects with them. We are not only here to promote our own club, but to also help increase participation in CPCC community.
4. Find a way to make history fun. While history and the study there of is fun for us, it is not necessarily entertaining for the rest of the people out there. Trying to find a way to bridge that gap, without losing accuracy or making history to much about generalizations will be a challenge. Whether it’s using comedy, or art to inform the public about the history of humanity, I think this is perhaps the most important role our club will play in the community.
Thank you and hopefully I can count on your vote.

Scott Storick : Candidate for President of CPHA
My name is Scott Storick. I am a student at CPCC earning a transfer degree in Liberal Arts. I would like to be the president of the Central Piedmont Historical Association. I enjoy studying many different eras of history. If I had to pick my favorite period of history it would be either Ancient Egyptian history or Medieval History.
My dream is to one day become an archivist; it is where I will preserve documents in a museum. The Smithsonian institute is where I would like to be an archivist one day. I might also be a history teacher or a historian. So, I am planning on going to UNCC to earn my bachelor degree in History. After I achieve my bachelor degree, I will go to the next step and get my graduate degree in History. I have taken American History 131 and 132 at CPCC. Both of these courses were important to me. I was enlightened on history from Christopher Columbus to the War in Iraq.
If I become the president of the Central Piedmont Historical Association; I will schedule many events and ways for others to enjoy studying history. I would like to watch historical movies or documentaries; it would be a great way for the whole club to learn and have fun. The History club should visit museums and have lectures on chosen historical topics. The History club should participate in events like the fall and spring festival at CPCC. I think we should also design t shirts for the club. The History club should also work with other similar clubs like the Study Abroad club. At the end of every semester, we should have a final event with food, drinks, and awards for members. I am all for having a facebook page for the History club; it would be very resourceful for all the members. So, if I am the president of the History club; I would be so thankful. I will choose many activities and help the vice president, secretary, treasurer, and all the members of the Central Piedmont Historical Association.
My name is Scott Storick, I want to be your President of the Central Piedmont Historical Association and this is why you should vote for me!
