CPCC TV added to Time Warner Cable Digital Cable
Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC) announced today that its College television station – CPCC TV – has been added to Time Warner Cable’s (TWC) Digital Cable programming. CPCC TV may now be seen on TWC Digital Channel 1234, Carolina on Demand. While CPCC TV will still be available on basic cable (Channel 17), the move to digital will expand the station’s audience and help raise awareness of CPCC and its many programs among local community members.
“We are delighted to be able to expand our programming to a new audience,” said David Rhew, broadcast general manager for CPCC TV. “We look forward to our audience members enjoying the high-quality programming that CPCC TV is producing and becoming known for throughout the region.”
In celebration of going digital, the station will launch new episodes of its “Charlotte Cooks” culinary program, now being produced in the College’s new 30,600 sq. ft. Culinary Arts Building, and “Trails of History,” the College’s signature television series which explores figures and events from Mecklenburg County’s history. Additional programming will be added in the coming months, focusing on such topics as automotive repair, environmental sustainability and horticulture.
“Time Warner Cable’s Carolina On Demand strives to provide relevant, compelling local programming that directly relates to the interest and needs of our customers,” says Jason Lockhart, Carolina On Demand Manager. “By partnering with CPCC, Time Warner Cable customers can learn more about the communities in which they live, work and play.” Carolina On Demand also offers viewers convenience and flexibility by allowing them to watch programs whenever they want at the touch of a button.
The move to digital continues the station’s forward momentum; CPCC TV launched a YouTube channel (http://www.youtube.com/cpcctv) earlier this year to give community members greater accessibility to the College’s many programs, and created a home for the College’s feature programs as well at http://cpcc.edu/tv, giving residents the opportunity to view CPCC TV’s educational programming online.
Carolina on Demand is available free to Time Warner Cable Digital subscribers. For more information, visit http://www.timewarnercable.com/Carolinas/learn/programming/local/carolinaondemand.html.
