WHAT: CPCC Theatre will bring the Pulitzer Prize-nominated play “Love Letters” to the Queen City in May. The play is comprised of the letters exchanged over a lifetime between two people – Melissa Gardner and Andrew Makepeace – who grew up together but went their separate ways.
During the performance, the audience is treated to each character’s ambitions, disappointments and victories, as shared in the letters being recited on stage. The letters describe the events that have passed between Melissa and Andrew during their separate lives.
To make the Charlotte performances more compelling, three different “couples” will present the play on successive performances, allowing each pairing to bring their own personal flair to this romantic play.
