CPCC Summer Theatre Presents My Fair Lady June 4 - 12

last modified Jun 07, 2010 06:02 PM

WHAT: CPCC Summer Theatre opens its 37th season with the award-winning musical “My Fair Lady.”  Winner of the Tony Award, the Olivier Award and the Academy Award, “My Fair Lady” is based on the book “Pygmalion” by George Bernard Shaw with lyrics by Alan Jay Leaner and music by Frederick Loewe.

The most famous language lesson in musical theatre history tells the story of professor Henry Higgins attempts to turn Eliza Doolittle, a Cockney flower girl, into a duchess. “My Fair Lady” resonates with some of the most beautiful music ever written for the stage – from the alluring “Wouldn’t It Be Loverly” to the lilting “I Could Have Danced All Night” and the rousing “Get Me to the Church on Time.”
