Central Piedmont Community College’s (CPCC) Harper National Flexographic Center, located on the Harper Campus, is pleased to announce that its Graphic Arts and Imaging Technology + Flexography (GAIT) students recently won 17 PICA (Printing Industry of the Carolinas) Awards. Since its inception in 1966, the PICA Award has served as the premier symbol of excellence for the graphics industry in the Carolinas.

The College’s GAIT students won four Best of Category awards, seven Special Judges Awards and four Awards of Excellence in the following categories of print: flexography, offset and screen printing.

“I am very impressed with our number of awards from this year’s entries; this is a great increase over our awards last year,” said Stephen Gerhardt, Harper National Flexographic Center coordinator. “Our students and instructors have worked hard to improve the standard of our lab printing.”

“I am pleased that the students are being recognized for their hard work and attention,” added Zachery Blackburn, CPCC’s GAIT instructor. “I couldn’t be more proud.”

The award winners include CPCC students Reggie McCormick, Zach Onstot, Jason Reid, Brett Garrett, Phony Nguyen, Cynthia Feeney and Larry Drain.
