CPCC Reschedules “Resources for Changing Times” Event for March 16

Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC), together with co-sponsors the Harris Conference Center, the City of Charlotte, the Workforce Development Board, the Employment Security Commission and WFAE 90.7fm, has rescheduled its “Resources for Changing Times” for Monday, March 16, at the Harris Conference Center on CPCC’s Harris Campus from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. CPCC had to cancel the event, originally scheduled for March 2, due to inclement weather, but is pleased to have the event back on its calendar, serving the local community.

Designed to help working professionals who are currently unemployed or at-risk of losing their jobs, “Resources for Changing Times” will help local residents connect with the community and college resources they need to achieve personal and professional success and provide perspective on today’s employment outlook.

During the event, individuals may attend an array of “how-to” workshops focused on subjects such as interviewing skills, financial management, coping with job loss and starting a new business. Representatives from the Department of Social Services, United Family Services, the City of Charlotte, the Workforce Development Board, the Employment Security Commission, the U.S. Army and N.C. Army National Guard will also be on-site to help participants discover new opportunities and provide access to community resources. Rowan-Cabarrus Community College, UNC-Charlotte, Johnson C. Smith University, Queens University of Charlotte, Pfeiffer University and York Technical College, along with representatives from CPCC, will be on-hand to provide information about their programs and services.

In addition, attendees can learn from some of the best business minds in the Charlotte-metro area. Representatives from the healthcare, energy, education, military and entrepreneurial fields will participate in panel discussions that examine these careers of the future. WFAE 90.7fm will host the morning and afternoon “Careers of the Future” panels at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
