CPCC hosts free stimulus job training seminars September 8-10
Attendees to learn more about WIA funding eligibility and the College’s many JobsNOW programs
WHAT: In response to the economic downturn, Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC) has used federal stimulus money to create more than 15 fast-track, job training programs to help displaced workers, at all levels, re-enter the workforce with new skills in six months or less. This initiative is the result of Governor Perdue’s JobsNOW program, the Federal American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA), the N.C. Department of Commerce, the Division of Workforce Development and the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Workforce Development Board (WDB). To learn more about these programs, CPCC is hosting a variety of orientation seminars at three of its campuses. Individuals interested in attending the seminars may register at http://www.cpcc.edu/changingcareers/orientation/.
Most of CPCC’s fast-track classes are open to any individual paying tuition, and many are free for those who qualify for Workforce Investment Act (WIA) funding. Attend one of our free seminars to learn about WIA eligibility, the WIA application process and CPCC’s fast-track job training programs that can help put you on the track to a new career.
