CPCC Hosts “Career Strategies for Challenging Times” seminars May 20

WHAT: Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC) continues to connect local residents to the resources they need during today’s difficult times. The College will host a free, one-day event – “Career Strategies for Challenging Times” – filled with seminars that will bring local residents one step closer to finding professional success.
CPCC’s career professionals will host an array of information sessions throughout the day that will focus on a variety of subjects, including such topics as:
- Interviewing Skills – Outshine the Competition: Polish your interviewing skills and learn how to best present your abilities and experience in this interactive workshop. Learn tips on what to do before, during and after the interview.
- Considering a Career Change? Make an Informed Decision: Challenging times in a changing workforce may force you to ask, “Is it time to find a new career?” Learn what to consider and how to make informed career changes based on a few key factors. Discover how to incorporate all aspects of your life into career choices.
- Finding a Job in a Tight Market: Learn some proven secrets to locate job opportunities, even those not advertised. Diversify your job search by going beyond just applying for jobs on the Internet. This session is designed to help you recharge your job search.
- What does your resume say about you?: Do you know what can put your resume at the top of the pile? Learn how to make your resume stand out above the rest.
- Balancing Life and Stress During a Job Loss?: Learn ways to balance your time and budget after job loss. Attendees will also learn tips and strategies for coping with the stress of this challenging time.
