WHAT: The condition of the Earth’s environment was a “hot” topic of debate during the recent presidential election, with both parties stressing the importance of conserving the planet’s natural resources.
The Catawba Riverkeeper Foundation, in partnership with Central Piedmont Community College’s (CPCC) Center for Sustainability, seeks to continue this dialogue by hosting “The Catawba River Film Festival.” Event attendees will watch four thought-provoking films – “Water First,” “Once Upon a Tide,” “Birth Place of the Winds” and “Clean Water Common Ground.”  These movies discuss important environmental issues such as the world water crisis, ocean conservation, kayaking and recreation, and conservation.
Following the film screenings, David Merryman with the Catawba Riverkeeper organization will lead a panel discussion to discuss the importance of clean water and the dramatic role it plays in shaping our natural environment.
