Ambassador Linda Tarr-Whelan to visit CPCC’s Central Campus

WHAT: Central Piedmont Community College’s (CPCC) International Business Program, together with the World Affairs Council of Charlotte (WACC), are proud to sponsor an evening with Ambassador Linda Tarr-Whelan. The ambassador will discuss the value of women’s leadership internationally and the importance of this underutilized resource for growth and stability in the U.S. and abroad.
 
Ambassador Whelan boasts more than 40 years of communications and management experience. She was appointed ambassador during the Clinton administration and was later confirmed in 1997 as the U.S. Representative to the UN Commission on the status of women. She is a seasoned negotiator who has led international talks for the U.S. on women and globalization, development, entrepreneurship, economic and political participation and human rights. Today, Ambassador Whelan is a managing director for Tarr-Whelan & Associates, an international consulting firm located in St. Helena Island, S.C.
