WHAT: It’s no secret that the U.S. economy is currently experiencing hard times. Residents are experiencing unemployment, financial hardship or are at-risk of losing their jobs. Thankfully, Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC)’s 2010 Career Fair is quickly approaching.

The annual event gives local working professionals the opportunity to connect with business leaders representing a variety of industries, including computers, engineering, healthcare and technical/trades. To date, more than 25 businesses have registered to participate in the event being sponsored by Convergys, UniFirst and Charlotte Job Finder. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with representatives from such organizations as Marriott International, Carowinds, the American Red Cross, Verizon Wireless and more.

During last year’s event, more than 3,200 candidates – comprised of both Charlotte residents and CPCC students/graduates – met with potential employers, to discuss how their qualifications could move their company forward.
