WHAT: It’s no secret that the U.S. economy is currently experiencing hard times. Residents are experiencing unemployment, financial hardship or are at-risk of losing their jobs. Thankfully, Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC)’s 2009 Career Fair is quickly approaching.
The annual event gives local working professionals the opportunity to connect with business leaders representing a variety of industries, including computers, engineering, healthcare and technical/trades. To date, more than 50 businesses have registered to participate in the event, which is being sponsored by The Shaw Group, UniFirst Corporation and Charlotte Job Finder. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with representatives from such organizations as Presbyterian Hospital, McDonald’s, Time Warner Cable, Carowinds and more.
During last year’s event, more than 2,100 candidates – comprised of both Charlotte residents and CPCC students/graduates – met with potential employers, making it one of the most successful Career Fairs on record.
