Course Requirements

What is a prerequisite?

A prerequisite is prior course work, test scores, or work experience that is required before taking the class in which you are interested. Click here for more information about prerequisites.

The class I need has a prerequisite. How can I meet this requirement?

By completing the prerequisite course work, or by showing proof that the prerequisite was taken at another college, or by appropriate CPCC placement test scores, or, in some cases, with the consent of the department head. For Frequently Asked Questions regarding placement testing, click here.

What is a co-requisite?

A co-requisite is a course that is required along with the class in which you are interested.
