About Us

ACM, the Association for Computing Machinery, is an international scientific and educational organization dedicated to advancing the arts, sciences, and applications of information technology. ACM is the world's oldest and largest educational and scientific computing society. Since 1947, ACM has provided a vital forum for the exchange of information, ideas, and discoveries. Today, ACM serves a membership of computing professionals and students in more than 100 countries in all areas of industry, academia, and government. With a world-wide membership, ACM is a leading resource for computing professionals and students working in the various fields of IT, and for interpreting the impact of IT on society. ACM is a major force in advancing the skills of IT professionals and students worldwide.

One of CPCC's newest student organizations, we consist of students interested in computers and computer programming. We participate in national and regional conferences and events with other college students and information technology professionals. We seek to develop our skills in computing through a cooperative learning philosophy, often volunteering in the community, providing our skills to local non-profits and schools. We aspire to become an invaluable resource for our members, our community and the IT profession.
