QEP Topic Selection

According to accreditation standards, the Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) topic selection and plan development must be broad-based, complement what the College is already doing, and be incorporated into the College's ongoing planning and evaluation process. The method for identifying the College's QEP topic included:

Review of Data
Reviewed data provided by the Office of Planning and Research, including College Operational and Strategic Plans, previous survey results, and Program Reviews.

Campus Dialogues
Various instructional units, staff groups, student groups, and the Board of Trustees were consulted.

Surveys
Surveys were sent electronically to College employees and students, College retirees, and program advisory groups.

Literature Reviews and Best Practices
A call for proposals with literature reviews and best practices was issued to the College.

Cabinet Approval
This process yielded two final proposals which were submitted to the Cabinet. The Cabinet approved the topic of one of the proposals, selecting Improving Student Success in the First Year as the College's QEP topic.
