Eligibility Requirements

To be considered at Lees-McRae College, you must:

— complete an associate degree at Central Piedmont

submit the Lees-McRae application form

— be in good standing (academic and otherwise) with Central Piedmont

— meet the residency and graduation requirements of Central Piedmont according to your catalog of entry

— earn a “C” or better for courses you intend to transfer according to the equivalency list (courses with an incomplete (“I”) or Pass (“P”) grade will not be considered for transfer)

Note: if you have earned a "D" grade, you may receive transfer credit provided the course does not alter the requirements of your major of study and/or Lees-McRae graduation requirements

New Horizon Transfer Scholarships

Central Piedmont students admitted to Lees-McRae will receive academic merit scholarships that range in amounts up to and including 50% off Lees-McRae's annual tuition.

These merit-based awards are guaranteed for the duration of the your stay at Lees-McRae, provided you remain in good academic standing.

The New Horizon Transfer Scholarships are awarded only to full-time students (enrolled in 12 or more credits a semester).

Admissions

To be admitted to Lees-McRae, you must complete an application (or complete the Common Application), submit official transcripts from all institutions you attended, include a written personal statement, and pay the application fee.

Additional information about the admissions process:

— Your application fee will be waived when you apply with the Lees-McRae institutional application.

— You should apply for admission to Lees-McRae and directly to the intended major/academic program of study during the second semester of your sophomore year at Central Piedmont.

— You must pay a non-refundable $300 enrollment commitment fee for programs offered at Lees-McRae's main campus. This fee signals your intent to enroll at Lees-McRae and serves as the mandatory fee for new student orientation, academic advising, course registration, welcome week activities, and all services provided to incoming transfer students through the Lees-McRae Office of New Student Engagement.

— If you decide to enroll in any online degree completion programs, you must pay a non-refundable $100 enrollment deposit. This deposit is not a separate fee and is applied directly to your tuition bill.

— You must meet all Lees-McRae admissions standards at the time of matriculation to Lees-McRae, including, but not limited to, academic success and academic standing. This includes an evaluation of any criminal or disciplinary issues.

— If your GPA falls below the minimum required for guaranteed admission, you may still be accepted on a case-by-case basis upon thorough review of your application and any supporting documentation.
